What Treatment for Hair Loss Actually Works?

I’m a 21 year old female. I have not had any diseases or medications that have caused my hair loss. My two sisters and mother have full, healthy, and thick heads of hair. My father (in his late 50′s) has thinned hair, but no bald spots. My hair has always been straight and silky, but over the last year it has thinned out considerably. I’ve seen a dermatologist, and all he suggested was extra strength Rogaine. He did blood tests to check for Lupus (my sister has it) as hairloss is common with that, but I was negative. All he said is that it might be early on-set alopecia (baldness). I usually wash my hair every other day, and I don’t color or treat my hair in any way. Oh and I’m white…. just thought I should say that as I know alopecia is a more common problem for Black women. But I’ve never known it to be a problem for white women.
