Morganhorses asked:

Already gone to 4 doctors (2 ob/gyns, a regular MD, and most recently an Endrocrinologist . Hormones are all within normal limits and they truly ran extensive testing, over 20 things. If Its from stress in the past how long will it shed and will it come back. I am using a thinning shampoo treatment and possibly its helping reduce what I shed per day but I am still worried about regaining my thick hair back. Has anyone here lost alot over a period of time (how long) and did it ever regrow. I am not stressed (except about my hair now) I was stressed a year ago really badly for a period of 4 months. When does stress induced hair loss start – after the stress itself? How long will it last after stress is gone? This is more than the 30 -100 hairs per day that is considered normal according to sites. It’s enough that my head is cold this winter for the first time ever.

MARIA D asked:

i have recently been switched to another chemo drug and after years of treatment, i think this one will do the job of completely obliterating most or all the hair on my head.

since i don’t want to live the rest of my life bald, i’ve been reading about medical hair replacement:
http://www.mayoclinic.org/hair-loss/index.html

my question is, has anyone else gone through the same or can offer constructive advice on what steps i can take? approx. cost comparison re. each type of treatment and which one seems to work the best w/ the most minimal bothersome effects?

only serious answers, please. after going through bald again, hair again – i can’t take any more yo-yoing and being bald forever using bothersome wigs and hats are no longer a viable option.

thank you.

Im a 22 yr old girl. I got healthy hair but not quite as much as I’d want it to be. I feel like a loose a lot of hair when styling it, i try not to exaggerate with heat tools as I know they can damage your hair but I still use them frequently. I wanted to know if there is any reliable product out there that would prevent hair loss, anything you may have tried or know of. thanks

Is this possible??? I was under the notion that when your in remission, the cancer is gone. So how does someone continue to receive the treatments if they are supposedly in remission and for a course of 5 years without any side effects whatsoever, no weight loss, no hair loss, no vomitting, no fatigue, Etc….

Hi my hair is starting to fall out… and i’ve always had naturally thick hair. I bleached it paritally for over 2 years professionally and never noticed any problems other than ordinary hair loss. Then 2 years ago I struggled with an eating disorder also never really noticed too much hair loss. Just about 8 months ago my mother passed away i had been taking care of her in my home and my hairdresser died my blond hair brunette (again all professionally) and about 3-4 months later i noticed it falling out. Is this most likely caused by stress, dying or diet (i’ve gained weight back since those two years) I am now using Nixon scalp treatment is there anything else i can do to make sure i don’t go bald?

Hair loss treatments are a general term for a number of methods, that are used to restore hair to balding areas of your scalp. The process of hair loss treatments involves topical, oral, medical and surgical treatments and sometimes require more than one session. The options can vary from medications to hair follicle transplantation.

Natural hair loss treatments are of both conventional and modern types. Special herbal formulas from your grandmother or grandfather are used in specific treatments, that have been formulated to use a mixture of natural ingredients with the specific purpose of regenerating hair follicles. This helps in hair growth.

The best natural hair loss treatment contains herbs, plant extracts, minerals and vitamins working in unison to replace dead or weak follicles. However, more permanent treatments are available to improve the appearance of thinning hair. By medical hair restoration, it means a group of surgical hair loss treatment done to reduce baldness in men. Such hair replacement procedures comprise hair transplant grafting, scalp reduction and scalp expansion.

Most DHT Blockers are made up of varied things. However, every DHT blocker has some of the same things in it. You would always find things such as zinc sulfate, magnesium, and peroxide in these things. Be sure to locate some of the important and different things, that can be found in these DHT blockers to make sure, that they do not have any chemicals that you might be allergic to. There are vitamins you can take for healthy hair and to help prevent hair loss, the disadvantage of this is, that taking huge amounts of vitamins can actually lead to hair loss. Some of the most important vitamins for hair loss are the B vitamins because they contain folic acid, magnesium and biotin.

You must understand, that vitamins are quite crucial to stop hair loss. Intake of diet, that is rich in vitamin A is the best hair loss remedy. If you start taking vitamins for reduction of hair loss, you will notice, that these are vitamins essential for good health till the time they are eaten in balanced form. Remember that Vitamin A is only one of the essential vitamins that enhance your hair growth. If not taken in proper balance ,it can have negative effects as well.

Before taking any vitamins for hair loss or to increase hair growth, you should contact your doctor to find the prominent causes for the hair loss. For more details on hair loss treatments, do log on to www.combat-hair-loss.co.uk

Hair Thinning & Hair Lost?

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Livia asked:

My aunt is only 37 and already, her hair is thinning, and she is losing a lot of hair. This has been going for as long as I can remember, and it hurts to see so much bald spots on her. I know this doesn’t run in the family because both her parents are almost sixty and still have lots of natural, thick hair and when she was younger, she too, had lots of hair.

Does anyone know what she can do (like certain treatments) to stop this from happening or even minimize the hair loss other than transplants or anything too over the top?

Thank you so much, everyone.
