My friend has been doing Rituxan for chemo and also taking Cell-Cept 1000 mg/day and is having issues with hair thinning and scalp pain. She won’t lose all her hair (Rituxan does not cause complete hair loss like most chemo), but her scalp hurts her a lot. Does anyone know of any shampoos/treatments that will help the pain in her scalp?

My friend was treated for anal cancer from June – July with radiation and chemo (and is currently cancer free–yeah!). Her hair started to thin at that time, but only slightly. Now (mid October) her hair is falling out in clumps. Is it normal for the hair to fall out this late after treatment?

I know that it does with Chemo but this is a completely different procedure. Does anyone know about local hair loss during radiation treatment. When I had treatment to my breast several years ago the hair under my arm became thin and hasnt grown back! Im worried the same will happen to my head…
